Going Deeper into Respect: Week 5/Day 3

God’s Unique Love

Prayer of Praise:

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.

Psalm 100:4

Jealous

:intolerant of rivalry or unfaithfulness

:disposed to suspect rivalry or unfaithfulness

:hostile toward a rival or one believed to enjoy an advantage

:vigilant in guarding a possession

We serve a God whose love is jealous. He is not willing to share you or give you over to the enemy. Praise Him for He is vigilant in His watch over you.

Write a prayer praising a God who is jealous for you.

Return to your prayer of praise daily. Add to it as you feel led.

Day 3: Jealousy is fierce as the grave…

Read Deuteronomy 4:21-24

Why couldn’t Moses cross the Jordan River into the Promised Land? (See Numbers 20:6-13 for more information.)

Moses failed to be jealous for the Lord’s glory before the people and glorified himself through disobedience. God will not give His glory to another.

What aspect of God’s character did Moses warn the Israelites about?

Does jealousy seem like a character trait to respect? Why or why not?

Do you have a misplaced love? someone or something God might be jealous of in your life?

How could you begin ordering your love in a right way?
