Going Deeper into Give: Week 3/Day 4

The Fruit We Bear

Consider the Reflection Scripture again:

As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.

Matthew 13:23 ESV

Who is He revealing Himself to be in this verse?

How does He want you to respond?

Day 4:

Read Matthew 3:1-10

What was John the Baptist’s message? What was its purpose?

What kind of fruit did he call the religious leaders to bear? What were they not to presume? Why?

Repentance is an important part of abiding in the Vine and maintaining a life suitable to bear the fruit of the Spirit.

What are hindrances to repentance? When was the last time you experienced the conviction of the Spirit and the need to repent? Ask God to reveal the weeds, rocks, and hard places in your life which need to go. Bear the fruit of repentance.
