Encourage: Coming Alongside
Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Philippians 2:4 ESV
Reflect on the Scripture in a way most meaningful to you. Memorize it. Read it out loud. Write it over and over. Draw what comes to mind. Look up the definitions of words which catch your attention.
Consider what He is saying to you about coming alongside others to encourage them.
Read Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Why are two better than one? What are the benefits of coming alongside one another?
How can they be an encouragement?
What is not quickly broken?
Read Genesis 2:18-25
What one thing in the garden of Eden wasn’t good? What was needed?
What did God do to make the “not good” good?
What does this tell us about people in general? What is our need?
Look back to Solomon’s words. Who would be the best “third strand” in a friendship of two? Why?
Consider your life and relationships. Would God look at your “garden” and say it’s good or not?
