Going Deeper into Encourage: Week 5/Day 3

God Our Encourager

Prayer of Praise:

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.

Psalm 100:4

:to perceive directly: have direct cognition of

:to have understanding of

:to recognize the nature of: discern

:to be acquainted or familiar with

:to have experience of

God’s perfect knowledge and understanding make Him the perfect source of encouragement. He knows where we need to be encouraged, whether we need inspiration, side-by-side support, or a good spurring on. He knows the perfect measure needed to refresh our faith.

Praise Him because He knows you perfectly and He knows just what you need

Write a prayer praising Him for all He knows and for His perfect use of His knowledge and power.

Return to your prayer of praise throughout the week. Add to it as you feel led.

Day 3:

God’s three sources of encouragement: His Word, His Spirit, His people.

The three forms of encouragement we’ve talked about: Inspire, Come Alongside, Spur On

Read John 14:15-27

On the eve of leaving, what assurances does Jesus give His disciples as an encouragement?

What does He encourage them to do as a sign of their love for Him? What is the primary source of encouragement Jesus tells them to expect? How will this source encourage?

Which of the three forms of encouragement is promised? How does this encourage you?
