Going Deeper into Encourage: Week 5/Day 5

God Our Encourager

Start today praising Him because He knows.

O Lord, you have searched me and known me!

You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.

You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.

Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.

You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.

Psalm 139:1-6 ESV

Use these verses as the foundation for your prayer of praise to the God who knows you and still loves you beyond measure…

Day 5:

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works…

Hebrews 10:23-24

How has His faithfulness encouraged you on your journey of faith? What promises hold you fast? move you to stir up others?

Week one, we asked you to practice daily encouragement of yourself and others.

What did you do to encourage self? Did you continue throughout the study? Why or why not?

What did you do to daily encourage another? Were you consistent in encouraging? Why or why not?

Through the daily practice of encouragement, what did you learn about yourself? about God?

Are you feeling refreshed? Or are you still parched?

God is the source of Living Water which quenches our thirst and refreshes us on our spiritual journey. He is our Encourager.

Pray for yourself and the one you encouraged (or intended to encourage). Ask God to continue to encourage you both through the refreshing living water of His Word, His Spirit, and His people.
