Going Deeper into Hope: Week 2/Day 5

One Hope

Praising Him as your One Hope instills a boldness in your spirit to share your confidence in Him with a world hungry for hope.

Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever…

Psalm 146:5-6 ESV

Praise His name as Hope. Bless others by sharing your hope with them.

Day 5:

Wrestling with Hope

Breathe in… breathe out…

Quiet the noise of the world around you.

Whisper, hum, sing, or meditate on the hymn:

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
in ev’ry high and stormy gale
my anchor holds within the veil.

Darkness veils. It covers, cloaks, blankets, or masks what we see. Sometimes in the darkness we allow hope to slip through our fingers, and cope with difficulty the only way we know how.

What darkness are you coping with lately? How does it mask or cloak His unchanging grace?

Yes, the storm may cast a shadow on His face, but hope in Jesus anchors us in the rough seas of life.

Imagine God’s love pouring into your heart like a cord anchoring you to hope. What would shift in your perspective? What would be the risk?

Consider casting the risk of hope into the sea as if you are unloading cargo to lighten the ship.

What emotions rise up? Allow them to work in you until His unchanging grace floods your soul.

Write the hope He gives in the form of a beatitude.
