The Blessing of Hope
Praising God as Enough reminds us: He is all we need. When we hope in Him we hope in all.
Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Psalm 90:14 ESV
Praise Him as Enough, the only One who can fill our hearts and lives with more than enough. More than we could ever hope for.
Wrestling with Hope
Breathe in… breathe out…
Quiet the noise of the world around you.
Whisper, hum, sing, or meditate on the hymn:
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
The hymn writer is no stranger to the blessing of hope. He ends the song with a beautiful picture of our One Hope.
Think about the moment you’ll see the Savior face to face. Imagine all life’s joy and pain slowly fading into the background.
Consider all this wrestling with hope just might lead you to the moment where nothing, not one thing matters except to be found in Jesus, dressed in His righteousness, and standing faultless before God.
Has the hope wrestling been hard? How have you grown to see hope in new ways? What ways have you struggled?
What blessing of hope have you discovered in the midst of the wrestling?
Finish this week’s beatitude.
Blessed are the hope-wrestlers,
Reflect on His words of hope to you this week. Ask Him to fill you with the hope needed to steady your faith.
